Psyche and Eros: A Myth for Our Time
A Workshop/Seminar with M. Mae Stolte, Jungian analyst

In this workshop. we will explore the myth of Psyche and Eros based on the tale of Apuleius, the Golden Ass. Erich Neumann, in his elaboration of the myth, sees it as a story of the shift of humankind from being at the mercy of the gods to human participation, the new age of human love in which the psyche consciously takes the fateful decision on itself. On this journey, Psyche admired by all, is abandoned to face loneliness, despair and death in her search for Eros which includes seemingly impossible tasks Aphrodite has set before her. But these tasks lead her to developing inner resources to help her complete the tasks in order to bring her to conscious relationship with Eros.
This myth is rich with symbols and motifs that relate both to our individual and collective lives. Journey with us as we seek to uncover their meaning through discussion, painting and journal writing.

Please bring your own painting materials. Paper will be provided.

Registration is limited to 12 participants
