Jung wrote: "The symbolic process is an experience in images and of images" (CW9i par. 82). In this lecture and workshop, we will work deeply with the images of the Tarot as a catalyst and container for each person's inner symbolic process.
Tarot cards can facilitate growth in an array of ways, not the least of which is a development of the intuitive function. Intuition is an irrational function that perceives what things can become and synthesizes disparate elements into a meaningful whole.
We will engage the intuitive function in working with the cards, and move from working with a single card to reading a multi-card spread, synthesizing individual cards in a spread into a coherent narrative. We will also hold space for an interplay of inner and outer as we consider what the synchronous appearance of certain cards could mean.
Each attendee is asked to bring a journal and a Tarot deck if they have one. Some decks will also be on hand for use.

About the speaker, Stacey Jenkins:
Stacey Jenkins is a Toronto Jungian Analyst in private practice. She is a graduate of the Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts (OAJA), is President of OAJA, and is a faculty member of its Analyst Training Program. In her previous 25-year career, Stacey was a producer and casting director in television and film. Her interests include astrology, synchronicity, and divination methods such as Tarot and the I Ching.
Stacey is an Extraverted Intuitive, and by fortune or by fate, she has had the development of the intuitive function supported throughout her professional life.
At 19 years of age, Stacey experienced a kind of lightning-strike call to be a Jungian Analyst. The burden of this call is something that would not be quiet throughout her first career. These days, in addition to a very rewarding practice, Stacey has the opportunity through a leadership role in the Jungian community to bring some possibilities in potentia into reality. She contends with the hard work and vexations of her many shortcomings that this work brings.
